The Iliopsoas connects the legs to the hips and spine, and a tight psoas causes pain and injury in the knees, hips, pelvis, low back, and abdomen. It is programmed to fire whenever we experience stress and trauma. Because we live in a fast-paced, caffeinated society with copious amounts of stimulation from electronics, city sounds, pop music, billboards, etc., we spend far too much time in the fight-or-flight response, and the psoas fires extremely often as an unthinking protection mechanism. Releasing the psoas means releasing trauma and hyperstimulation from our mind and body, something we can only do by relaxing into the rest and digest state. Come learn about your psoas and how to unwind at home with Tucker.
